INHPF Profile

INHPF Profile

The International Network of Health Promotion Foundations (INHPF) was established in 1999 to advance the work of health promotion foundations around the world. INHPF acts to achieve this through two core activities:

  • Enhancing the performance of existing Health Promotion Foundations (HPFs) through exchange, mutual learning and joint action.
  • Mentoring and supporting the establishment of new HPFs.

INHPF comprises organizations from around the world involved in funding health promotion activities. As organizations, INHPF members each have unique characteristics. Interest in establishing Health Promotion Foundations is growing as countries and regions recognize the benefits of having long-term sustainable funding for health promotion. Also, HPFs are a successful way of meeting Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) commitments.

Members liaise on a regular basis with email discussions, three to four teleconferences per annum and a face-to-face meeting each year (planned to coincide with a major health promotion conference).
